This is a pencil sketch portrait of Shri Shinde who retired / superannuated from the office of the accountant general / Ag office/ cag mumbai which is at pratistha bhawan, marine lines mumbai. He requested me to draw a pencil Portrait for him.  I accepted his request and made this pencil drawing portrait for him from his photo that I had taken with my phone.

Time invested in drawing pencil sketch
5 hours

Medium
Graphite Pencils

Surface
8 x 12 Drawing paper

Tools used in drawing this portrait.
  • HB pencil
  • 6B pencil
  • Black colour pencil
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Cotton

Now, How I sketched this man face step by step

I draw free hand sketches. I do not use grid or any other tricks to draw portraits from photos. I started from the nose and then the whole face. The reason for starting from the nose is that it becomes the center of the portraits which help me in measuring the distance of and drawing other facial parts.

Hb pencil for shading the skin of man's face.

6b pencil for darker areas like hair etc.

Black colour pencil for the darkest areas like drawing the eyes, drawing mustache, the corner of hair etc

Cotton for blending the graphite.

Eraser for giving a shining illusion on head and cheeks.

Feel free to ask your queries regarding pencil sketches. I will be happy to help with whatever knowledge I have.

I will keep posting new sketches and drawings on this sketching blog.
This pencil drawing is relevant for sketching A man's face, drawing a bald man face, drawing of bald man with moustache.

Pencil Sketch of Shri Abhay Kumar from Kudi Bhagtasni, Jodhpur by Akshay Kumar 373

Pencil Drawing for Shri Abhay Kumar from Jodhpur

After a very long gap I got the opportunity to show you all a recent progress in my drawing. I had made this drawing in 2014 on a 8x12 drawing paper using only a simple HB pencil. It was kept with me only for 3 years and recently when I visited Kudi Bhagtasni, Jodhpur I gave the original drawing to Shri Abhay Kumar. Even after a gap of 3 years the face in drawing and original is matching. Isn't it ?

See below, the post that I shared on Akshay Kumar 373.

Pencil Sketch Portrait of a Smiling Beautiful Indian Girl with dimple and Beautiful Hair.

Pencil Drawing of a Beautiful Indian Girl

Original Drawing - 12 x 8.

Graphite Pencils HB and 6B on Thick Drawing Sheet.

Signed and Dated.

Time taken to Draw - 3 hours.

This Pencil Sketch Portrait was asked to draw by the Girl from Patna, Bihar.

In this drawing I started with the chin. As the nose was not in the center. From chin, I drew the  face of the girl and gave an outline to the hair. After outlining the whole portrait with light pencil I started shading the whole face and hair. To get shining on hair and lips I simply used  eraser to give a light tone.

Pencil Sketch of an Indian Woman  Face

by Akshay Kumar 373

Drawing of woman face

Original Drawing Size - 8 x 12

Signed and Dated.

Graphite Pencil (only HB ) on Thick Drawing Paper.

Time taken to draw - 3 hours.

This Pencil Drawing of woman face was requested on facebook.com from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. As I had written in my previous post that I start drawing portraits with the nose part. It is because the nose is the central part in a portrait ( as I think ) and rest part can be drawn around the nose taking the proportions.

So in this Pencil drawing also, I started with nose. Then eyes, eye brows etc. I first shaded the whole face lightly and then to get the shine on skin, erase the graphite from those areas that you want to look as if its reflecting light.

Pencil Sketch Portrait of an Old Indian Man with Glass and Beard by Akshay Kumar 373.

Pencil Sketch.

Size- 8 x 12
Pencil on Thick Drawing Paper.
Time taken - 2-3 Hours.

Reference Photo.

This pencil sketch portrait was made on the request of someone from Kudi Bhagtasni, Jodhpur, Rajasthan on my facebook profile.

Making this portrait was not that easy for me as I use only HB pencil and paper. I had to draw white hair and beard with black graphite pencil. So, I started the sketch from drawing the nose first. After that taking the proportions I drew the eyes and rest of the face. For hair, I first made a light outline and shaded the outer area with pencil so that the inner area appears whiter than the outer. Then shaded the black areas in the hair. Same steps for beard also.

That Old Man in the Local Train. A short story by Akshay kumar.

Old Man in the train.
Ramesh was a young guy who used to go to his office everyday by the local train. He always caught the same seat of the  last coach of the same local train. He always managed to get his window seat everyday in that crowded coach of the local train with the help of his group of friends who also used to go in the same coach of the local train. And just like everyday an old man used to aboard the same last coach of the local train on the very next station. And stand between the seats where ramesh sits with his local-train friends. The old-man always remained standing throughout the journey to his office because all the seats were already occupied till he comes into the coach and no one ever offered him a seat.

The boys used to play loud music on their mobile phones and tablets, sing loudly and also crack vulgar jokes. Sometimes they also teased the old-man with their dirty jokes and then laugh together. The old man never said anything to those boys and always remained silent. This was happening every day.

One day ramesh came to his home earlier than his usual time from office. He normally comes home after his father but this day he came earlier than his father. Ramesh was relaxing in his room and after some time his father also came from office. His father was looking very tired, tensed and angry.

“What happened? Today also? ”, Asked his mother.

“Yes”, Father replied in a tired voice.

“Why don’t you say anything to them? Asked his mother.

Father shouted, “What should I say to those goons? They don’t even know how to behave to an old man. I don’t want them to offer me their seats but at least they should behave properly in the train. They must have been brought up by uncivilized parents or they must not be having their own parents to teach them how to behave.”

Ramesh was listening everything from his room but did not say anything. Whatever his father said was touching his heart. It was like a movie being played in front of his eyes where he was seeing himself as the goons and that old man as his father. Ramesh could not sleep that night. He kept crying the whole night.

Next morning, ramesh got up early. Got ready for his office and ran towards the station. He caught the same seat of the last coach of the same train. Today it was a different ramesh, he was not playing and shouting with his friends. He was just waiting for the next station to come. After some time the train reached the next station. The old-man entered into the train along with the crowd and stood in front of ramesh facing the window.

Ramesh stood from his seat and said to the old man, “Please sit.”

“No, thanks, its Ok.“ replied the old-man.

“It is a request. Please sit.” Ramesh said again.

“But why today?” Asked the old man.

Ramesh said,” So that some where some other guy should also give his seat to someone’s father and no one should say that someone’s parents are uncivilized.”

Metro Train - An Untold Love Story (In Hindi) by Akshay Kumar 373

Short Stories by Akshay Kumar
